So its less than a year before the wedding! I am sure lots of guests are wondering of the traditions to take note of. However it is not the end of the world if these traditions are not followed. Just come and have a good time!
Scottish Weddings:
Never reject Alcohol offered by the host.
Kilt wearers must refrain from wearing underwear.
It is customary to stay until the end of the wedding and join in with the dancing, especially any traditional dance.
Singapore Traditions:
Traditionally, Ang Baos (red packets) are given at weddings rather than gifts. Red Packets contain money, blessing the couple with an auspicious future ahead of them. Amounts given varies depending on relationship to the couple. The amount usually ends with an "8", and usually never contain, "2", "4", "7". The usual amount in an Ang Bao for weddings can be found online. However it is not obligatory to follow this.
Don't reject food offered by the host, because it might indicate that you don't respect them, unless there are medical reasons.
